BREAKING: GOP Plan to Repeal Health Reform Will Increase the Deficit by $230 Billion
Harrisburg, PA – The Republican plan to repeal health reform will increase the deficit by $230 billion, according to a new report by the nonpartisan Congressional Budget Office.
“Republicans not only want to make it easier for insurance companies to deny coverage due to pre-existing conditions, increase prescription drug costs for seniors and take away insurance from young adults, they also want to increase the deficit by $230 billion,” said Mark Nicastre, a spokesman with the Pennsylvania Democratic Party. “The Republican proposal to repeal health reform will make it harder for Pennsylvanians to get the coverage they need, and it will kill jobs by busting the budget. Tom Marino, Mike Kelly, Lou Barletta, Pat Toomey, Pat Meehan, Mike Fitzpatrick, Jim Gerlach, Charlie Dent, and the rest of the Republican delegation should drop their job killing, budget busting plan and work to create jobs and get the economy back on track.”
