BREAKING: Kane’s Spokeswoman Resigns

KaneYesterday, Carolyn Myers was defending her boss’ decision to fire James Barker.

Today, she announced she is stepping down.

At the moment, Myers is denying that the two events are related.

She told Brad Bumsted of the Tribune-Review that she gave the Attorney General her two week notice on Monday.

Myers is the sixth spokesperson to leave Kane’s office since she was inaugurated in January 2013, just short of twenty-seven months ago.

She took the job just over a month ago when Aaron Sadler stepped down. He lasted about two months.

Additionally, last week Kane’s Chief of Staff Brad Rutherford resigned.

  1. The brazen [criminal] behaviors of the sitting AG are outrageous on their face.

Where is the clamor to investigate, arrest and prosecute the people who have been doing all the recent leaking?

This is a far more clear-cut violation of grand jury secrecy than anything Kane’s been accused of.

The pool of people with access to the information leaked recently can’t be very large, and could be narrowed further by motive, as well as a few warrants into emails, phone calls and cell-phone location tracking.

The outrage over Kane is fake outrage.

  3. “By ignoring the repeated and flagrant leaks of the investigation into Kane, her attackers have lost all credibility.”

Which attackers have ignored leaks? I don’t think we should be making credibility comparisons.

  4. Robert-

I’ve got plenty of disdain for those deserving of it. There is an incredible hypocrisy of the media leaking (biased, politically motivated, illegal, deliberate) grand-jury testimony about Kane, then going after Kane for a leak that was trivial in comparison.

The GOP courts/prosecutors going after Kane don’t seem to care one bit about the leaks of their own grand-juries (as long as Kane is the target). I suspect that if a single leak tainted them, they’d move heaven and earth to find the culprit (or just blame Kane for the leak).

By ignoring the repeated and flagrant leaks of the investigation into Kane, her attackers have lost all credibility.

  5. I think David D’s shown that he would be highly qualified and just the kind of spokesperson that would maintain the dignity, continuity and substance of distinguished ex flacks of the AG’s office.
I heard Bahdad Bob turned the job on ethical grounds.
I just cant reveal my “sources”.

  6. @ DD:

All you would be illustrating is your disdain for those with whom you disagree … and cogent efforts to unearth politically-incorrect truths.

I’d consider the spokesperson job, but my early responses to questions would likely be: “Don’t you have anything better to do than to ask f*cking stupid questions?” and “What the f*ck is wrong with you people?”

    🙂

  8. This ends poorly for Wolf. Also could you imagine if you’re just some paper pushing bureaucrat and you get called up to do this job? This will get messier.

  9. Really, it is time for Kane to go, even if Wolf is willing to make a fool of himself arguing otherwise.

  10. Could we be witnessing “principled resignations” from the Attorney General’s Office in PA?

  11. Here’s the real question. After the parade of spokespeople leaving Kane’s office, who would dare take the job next?

  12. Unsanctioned R – Is there no one Kane trusts who tells her the truth?

I think you could also ask…Is there anyone who thinks Kane tells the truth?

  13. I’m waiting for elroy hirsch to tell us how this young female Democrat press secretary is part of the massive conspiracy of Republican white males against Kane.

  14. Quick David Diano get in here and talk about how this isn’t newsworthy and people leave jobs all the time!

  15. I sure am glad that we elected someone who hadn’t worked as an attorney for SEVEN years before becoming the Attorney General. Thanks, gullible Corbett-hating voters!

  16. People are resigning and we the tax payers are footing the bill. She needs to go already. It’s so obvious she is in way over her head.

  17. I conjecture that she is in real personal crisis mode. Unfortunately, the Pennsylvanians’ AG office is a casualty.

  18. I can totally see why people are quitting. If I begged my boss to not do something foolish and she continued to defy all good advise over and over with adviser after adviser…I’d have to resign too. The self destruction is epic.

Is there no one Kane trusts who tells her the truth?
