BREAKING: PA Society Staying in New York

New York HiltonThe Pennsylvania Society is staying in New York City.

In 2017, the event will move to the New York Hilton Midtown hotel.

The annual gathering had to be relocated after it was revealed that the Waldorf Astoria will be going through a top-down renovation.

“As you may already know, the Waldorf Astoria will be undergoing major renovations, beginning in the Spring of 2017, for a period of up to three years,” PA Society President Richard Rodgers and Executive Director Carol Fitzgerald wrote in an email to their members. “With the unanimous approval of the Council of the Society, we have already secured overnight rooms and the wonderful venue for our 2017 dinner: the New York Hilton Midtown, conveniently located at 1335 Avenue of Americans, New York. We are delighted with the plans for the 2017 Dinner, which will take place on Saturday, December 2, 2017.”

Fitzgerald told PoliticsPA that New York was the only site considered.

“By keeping PA Society in New York, we can unite all Pennsylvanians,” she said.

She also revealed that the Waldorf Astoria reached out to the Pennsylvania Society before the Wall Street Journal reported on the renovations as they are the longest-running event at the Waldorf.

The plan is to continue at the Hilton until the Waldorf is reopened.

  1. Other Chris: I think what that odd statement means is that it’s necessary to keep PA Society out of PA to prevent squabbling over venue. As if Pennsylvanians couldn’t find a way to compromise.

  2. Oh hooooooray, the folks with the tight rectums will still get to have a partay in 2017.

  3. “No question now, what had happened to the faces of the pigs. The creatures outside looked from pig to man, and from man to pig, and from pig to man again; but already it was impossible to say which was which…”

The troughs in New York City are so full and tasty!

  4. “By keeping PA Society in New York, we can unite all Pennsylvanians”. What an odd statement.

  5. It’s like the old joke:

    Why do people rob banks?

…. That’s where the money is.
