State Representative Jim Christiana (R-Beaver) in engaged to be married, the lawmaker announced via Twitter this evening.
“She said yes!!” Christiana tweeted.
A quick glance at Christiana’s facebook profile shows that the lucky lady is Jayann Freidhoff, a native of Johnstown and Washington and Jefferson grad who works as a Derivatives Operations Manager at BNY Mellon in Pittsburgh.
Christiana’s Twitter-savvy colleagues were quick to congratulate him.
“@repchristiana Congratulations! I’m assuming that she said yes to your marriage proposal and not to read your PennWatch legislation. :)” tweeted State Rep. (and Montco Commissioner candidate) Josh Shapiro (D-Montgomery).
“Congrats!” tweeted State Rep. DePasquale (D-York) and State Rep. Matt Smith (D-Allegheny).
J.D. Prose, the politics reporter from Christiana’s local paper the Beaver County Times, got in on the celebration.
“@repchristiana Congratulations! ! Does this mean there will be a Girl Wonder???” tweeted Prose, referring to Christiana’s nickname.
PoliticsPA will follow up with Christiana after the haze of celebration gives way to this week’s session. In the meantime, thinking about possible locations, PoliticsPA wonders whether the PA Governor’s mansion has a honeymoon suite…
