State Representative Todd Stephens is officially throwing his hat into the ring and running for Attorney General.
We talked to Stephens back in June about a possible candidacy but now he is making the leap.
Today, the Montgomery County State Rep. released a four and a half minute announcement video that emphasizes his work as an Assistant District Attorney and U.S. Federal Prosecutor.
“I’m not running because I always wanted to be a prosecutor,” Stephens states. “I’m running because now, more than ever, we need an experienced prosecutor as our next Attorney General.”
Stephens also takes some shots at incumbent Kathleen Kane and all her difficulties.
“Pennsylvania needs an Attorney General who roots out corruption and scandal, rather than one continuously caught up in it,” he states. “We deserve an Attorney General all of Pennsylvania can count on.”
He then goes on to give some of his own history before finishing with his campaign pitch.
“Never before have we faced an election for Attorney General where experience mattered more,” Stephens concludes. “I have that experience and I’m ready to get to work.”
GOP State Sen. John Rafferty announced his campaign last June. Democratic prosecutor Jack Stollsteimer is also running. Northampton County DA John Morganelli and Montgomery County Commissioner Josh Shapiro are expected to jump into the race as well. All the while, Attorney General Kathleen Kane insists she will run for re-election.

Agree! He will be an outstanding AG. Rafferty should just fold…..he doesn’t stand a chance.
Great video. Best roll out of the three candidates currently in the race.
But can he multi-task? Is he even a mom?
YES!!! Finally an AG we can trust/depend on/not want to impeach!
Seems like a good dude and the ad was very well done
