Political newcomer Tarah Toohil, a Republican, has defeated 16-year incumbent Todd Eachus, according to unofficial numbers in the 116th Legislative District.
With 32 of 33 precincts reporting as of 9:30 p.m., Toohil holds a commanding lead over Eachus, the Democratic House majority leader, 8,466 to 7,251.
