As the Q3 deadline looms, candidates will be eager to boast their contributions for the final quarter before the election. Senator Bob Casey is no exception.
The Casey campaign sent out a release, saying they will report $5.25 million cash-on-hand after raising $1.517 million.
It’s slightly stronger than Casey’s other recent reports, which were also in the $1 million to $1.5 million range.
Casey’s Republican opponent, Tom Smith, has yet to announce his fundraising figures. It’s expected that he’ll report several million dollars, though mostly from loans and contributions from himself.
“Bob Casey enjoys strong support throughout Pennsylvania for his commonsense agenda of focusing on jobs, helping middle class families and fighting for Pennsylvania,” said Casey Campaign Manager Larry Smar. “This is in sharp contrast to the extreme Tea Party agenda pushed by Tom Smith who is vying for the title of the top self-funder in the country. We will have the resources to finish the race strong and to compete with Tom Smith’s millions and his fundraising support from national Tea Party groups.”
