Casey and Toomey to Continue Agreement on District Court Appointments

Casey and ToomeyPennsylvania’s Senators Bob Casey and Pat Toomey announced they will continue their agreement to appoint judges to the Federal District Courts in Pennsylvania.

“The bipartisan process Sen. Toomey and I have engaged in has helped put 16 judges on the federal bench. Filling these judicial vacancies is critical for the administration of justice in Pennsylvania,” Casey said in the statement.

“We will continue our bipartisan agreement to ensure that the most capable, knowledgeable and ethical candidates become federal judges serving Pennsylvania,” Toomey said.

The Senators announced two advisory panels who will provide them with recommendations to fill the vacancies.  The panels will each have 20 members comprised of two co-chairs and 18 members.  Each senator will appoint one co-chair and nine members.

The Co-Chairs for the Eastern District panel are Robert Ross, a Senior Partner at Ross Feller Casey, LLP, and John J. Soroko, the Chairman and CEO, Duane Morris LLP.  The Western District panel Co-Chairs are Michael Adams, the Founder and Managing Partner, Mike Adams & Associates, LLC, and Heather S. Heidelbaugh, a Partner with Leech Tishman.

There are currently no vacancies in the Middle District.

  1. I doubt if Casey will have any trouble at his town hall meetings from the so-calle progressives. After all, he is a protected species, namely an elected Democrat. No threat to Casey’s tranqil meetings from the Soros-funded agitators. Their business is to hoot and howl as they redirecte their continuing tantrums after last November’s loss at the polls.

  2. Just got back from Senator Casey’s Town Hall meeting in Philadelphia. At least we have one senator with enough backbone to face his constituents. Toomey will keep hiding away in his safe space populated only by the Koch-Devos swamp types. The fact that this type of bribery is legal is disgusting, and Gorsuch will do nothing to reverse citizens united. Disgusting crooked republicans all need to go ASAP.

  3. No more deals for either one of these jagoffs since they both sat on their hands up their asses when La familia got screwed by Trumpit on our Scotus play. I admit he was an Irish pug, but he was our guy and we got no respect. Next time, these bums can buy off the Uncle Toms with their own money…if they can find someone who can talk rap.

  4. You nailed it, Porter. While gerrymandering may be a commn feature for determining Congressional seats, this curious mutation of the buddy system for Federal court appointments is almost as interesting.

One can only imagine the deals being made.

  5. I do trust Bob Casey’s and Pat Toomey’s agreements on the district court appointments from there for these vacancies, because I do trust them both no matter what of what happens from there.

  6. The Senators went on to say that the hacks they appoint to these bipartisan panels will ensure a steady stream of candidates for the federal bench who have donated generously to and bundled donations for our campaigns, political parties, and political friends. Yeah Democracy!
