“Over the past several weeks and months, people from across Southwestern Pennsylvania have asked me if I would consider running for Congress,” he said in a release that was “Paid for And Authorized By Christiana Congressional Exploratory Committee.”
“With the important 2011 elections behind us, I believe that the time to explore that possibility has come. Today I am announcing that I am forming a “testing the waters” committee that will allow my family and I to explore if this is a campaign that we want to pursue.”
Christiana is not exactly shy about his potential bid – he’s been talking about it for several weeks. The news was first reported Wednesday by J.D. Prose of the Beaver County Times.
Naturally, his chances will depend on the shape of the district in next year’s map. Most insiders are expecting a matchup between Rep. Jason Altmire and Rep. Mark Critz, who had $737,000 and $423,000 cash on hand as of the most recent campaign reports. Christiana would hope to face the winner of that primary.
In either case, the Republican voters Christiana would count on may end up bolstering margins in the districts of Rep. Mike Kelly or Tim Murphy. He will also have to face Keith Rothfus, Altmire’s 2010 foe who has already been campaigning for months so far this cycle.

It is funny to me that there is no such thing as a congressional exploratory committee… Jimmie being Jimmie. Ha.
