UPDATED: Monday is the Deadline for Ordering Tickets to the PLCA Gridiron Dinner

By Sari Heidenreich, Contributing Writer

Some of Pennsylvania’s toughest journalists and legislators will take the stage in two weeks to make fun of themselves, each other, and anything else that comes to mind.

Hosted by the Pennsylvania Legislative Correspondents’ Association (PLCA), the 81st annual “off-the-record” Gridrion fundraiser will be held October 4 to support the association’s summer internship program for aspiring journalists. (For the sake of full disclosure, this writer participated in the internship program this summer.)

“Gov. Tom Corbett is coming, are you?,” asked Jan Murphy, PLCA President and Patriot-News reporter.

Sen. Daylin Leach will perform a live comedy show; the Capitol press corps have prepared sketches; as have some of the legislative caucuses.  UPDATE: The Senate Republican caucus’ scheduled performance has been called off, according to a Friday morning email from Murphy.

The event begins at 5:30 p.m. at The State Museum of Pennsylvania with a cash bar and movable feast. The show starts at 7 p.m.

Museum will open its doors at 5 p.m. to allow visitors to explore the exhibits before the event.

Tickets are $80 each ($70 if 10 tickets are purchased.) and must be ordered by September 26. They can be purchased by e-mailing cc@christinecorrigan.com or by visiting the Capitol newsroom (Room 524E Main Capitol) and seeing AP’s Marc Levy, The Pittsburgh Tribune-Review’s Brad Bumsted or The Patriot-News’ Jan Murphy.
