Corman Endorses Santorum for President

rick-santorumPresidential hopeful Rick Santorum picked up an early endorsement of his campaign in Harrisburg yesterday.

Sen. Majority Leader Jake Corman threw his growing political clout behind the two-time presidential candidate at a press conference, calling Santorum “inspiring.”

“It’s the beginning of the campaign, but we think it’s one that has lasting power that will be there at the end and we’re very excited to be a part of this team,” Corman said about his long-time family friend, according to a report by Capitol Ideas.

Ten other GOP state legislators also endorsed Santorum at the short event, including House Speaker Mike Turzai and House Majority Leader David Reed.

After finishing as the GOP’s unlikely runner-up in 2012, Santorum has had a much harder time picking up traction since launching his campaign less than two months ago.

According to the latest poll by Suffolk University, he is sitting in 11th in the Republican field with just over 1%.

While beating out several others, such as Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal and former New York Gov. George Pataki, at this time the former PA Senator’s poll numbers will not get him onto the first Republican debate stage next month. Fox News has said it will only invite the top 10 candidates in the polls to the debate.

  1. Santorum’s awesome! I’m glad to see him picking up such strong, early support in Pennslyvania.

  2. Santorum has a few haters that love to mouth off, but when you really look at Santorum’s record, he’s one of the most balanced candidates that gets things done. Love his focus 9n #AmericanManufacturing and #WorkingFamilies as well as his new tax plan and abolishing the IRS. He’ll make a great President!

  3. As any stab at journalism more complex than a bumper sticker would have mentioned, Santorum has been close to the Corman family for almost forty years.

  4. Santorum ‘s day job is running for President. He is funded by the crazy brigade. Makes me warm and fuzzy to know the Republican State Senate Leader Jake Cormon is a card caring member of the Santorum Crazy Brigade.

  5. I guess we can officially put Corman in the “Kook” category. Who will he endorse when Santourm drops by the wayside for the fourth or fifth time?

  6. What a horrible endorsement, he could have actually tried to make and impact and endorse someone who matters in this election.

  7. Santorum must truly be an inspiration to them for how much stupid sh*t they can say.

Santorum will have dropped out long before the PA primary
