Where did you grow up?

Boston

Where did you go to college and what was your major?

Suffolk University

What was your first political job?

First job on the Hill was with former Pennsylvania Congressman Bill Clinger in the early ’90s

What was your biggest break in politics?

In the mid-90’s I got a call from now-Congressman Dan Webster (R-FL) to go to Tallahassee and work for him. At the time he had just become the first Republican Speaker to preside in the House in over 120 years. It was an exciting time, a great experience.

How long have you worked with your boss?

Since his first term in Congress [2003].

What was your position when you first started in the office?

LD first year.

What’s the worst job outside of politics you have ever had?

Some of those high school ones were real doozies, but having money beats not having money.

Personal

What has been your proudest single accomplishment/achievement since working on Capitol Hill?

A huge debt of gratitude goes to my current and previous bosses – those mentioned above as well as John Mica and Bob Barr. Any and all credit goes to them. I’ve been fortunate to learn from the very best.

What is your favorite PA sports team?

Steelers

Where and what do you eat lunch on most days?

I change it up as often as I can.

Favorite “political” movie?

I liked the John Adams series on HBO

What political figure do you most admire (excluding your boss), and a sentence or two why?

Past President of the Dedham Retired Men’s Club, Hank Mosychuk, ret., now serving as Precinct 7 Dedham Town Meeting Member.

What makes a Chief of Staff “good” and why? advice would you give to the aspiring Chiefs of Staff out there?

Never stop learning your trade.
