Could Nutter Serve In A Clinton Cabinet?

456px-Michael_NutterCould former Philadelphia Mayor Michael Nutter earn a spot in Hillary Clinton’s cabinet?

There is a very distinct possibility, according to Edward Isaac-Dovere of Politico.

Nutter’s name has been thrown around for the top job of two different departments: Transportation and Housing and Urban Development.

“Former Philadelphia Mayor Michael Nutter, who was considered for this position under Obama and just headed a successful convention effort for his party,” Isaac-Dovere writes of the position of Secretary of Transportation.

“Nutter’s also discussed as a possibility [for HUD], because Clinton and her aides are thought to be interested in emphasizing cities and drawing on urban experience.”

Nutter, who served as Mayor of Philadelphia from 2008 to 2016, is a long-time supporter of Hillary Clinton. This year he has been serving as a surrogate for the Democrat’s campaign on CNN.

Regardless of the position, it seems like a good bet that Michael Nutter will be heading to D.C. along with Clinton if she can win in November.

  1. He’s a much better fit for a Trump cabinet: no accomplishments but a superb view of his own worth.

  2. Not if mayor Kenney, Bob brady, and others have anything to do with it. Watching this one behind he scenes would be great fun.

  3. I think for the Former Mayor should serve in the Housing and Urban Department because we need a better leader like him in that department and fire Julian Castro. I know of his name is also mentioned as Transportation Secretary as well but I think for the current one Anthony Foxx should stay in that position because for Hillary and I will need him is to continue that job whatever he’s doing right now under Obama’s Cabinet.

  4. I think for he should be in Hillary Clinton’s Cabinet because for he has experience.

  5. Nutter did fine work in Philadelphia as Mayor by all accounts.

    Clinton loyalist from way back.

    Should be a shoo in.

It would burnish the “Philadelphia Renaissance” narrative that is on the tongues of the chattering classes nowadays…
