State Senate Democratic Leader Jay Costa (D-Allegheny) announced today that Brittany Crampsie was hired as his press secretary and senior caucus communications advisor.
Crampsie spent the last four years in contract public relations, most recently the Manager of Communications & Engagement at ShellyLyons Public Affairs and Communications. She is a former Managing Editor of PoliticsPA.
Crampsie graduated from Lehigh University with a bachelor’s degree in Political Science, and a master’s in Political Science from Lehigh.
“We’re thrilled to have Brittany on board with our press team. Anyone who has seen her on TV knows how well she communicates progressive policy, and we know she’ll be a great champion for our caucus,” Costa said.

Seems like a great choice! I wish her well.
Great choice! Glad to see such a thoughtful and effective voice hired for the position.
How is this a great hire?? It’s a clown show of do nothing idiots in the capitol – so hiring a new woman to communicate the clowns’ messages is going to help the taxpayers how?
I am blessed to know Brittany on a personal as well as professional level, and this is finally a great day for politics. Finally someone with intelligent, perspective, and depth is taking a major seat at the table.
She’s exactly what we Dems need! Just you wait.
I got a cramp, see?
Wow new day for Democrats hire someone with education and qualification. SHOCKER Tired of Wolfpack rejects. Next the state party needs to hire educated experienced executive director. Women across Pa embarrassed. Send all Wolfpack back to the cave.
This is a very good hire.
