Critz Concedes Race to Rothfus

Trailing by 8,000 votes as of 11:30 p.m., the Critz campaign has announced that they will concede the race to GOP challenger Keith Rothfus.

Critz, who first won PA-12 through a special election, has fought in four multimillion dollar races since 2010.

As of now, it stands with Critz at 48.7 percent of the vote, and Rothfus at 51.3 percent.

UPDATE

Rothfus released a statement on his election victory.

“The people of southwestern Pennsylvania have spoken tonight and I am truly grateful for the faith they have put in me. I would like to thank Congressman Mark Critz for his service to our country and for running a well fought campaign. We are facing troubling times in our nation and so much needs to be done to bring back jobs and prosperity to our country. I am confident that by staying true to the principles I have laid out during this campaign and by working with my colleagues in Washington, we will do what is right to preserve and defend our freedoms for future generations.”

  1. How representative of the people is a man who can afford to move from Edgeworth to Sewickley in these troubled financial times? We need a common man to represent us not someone with ideals that might fall more in line with the people who can shop at Giant Eagle instead of having to use the Coinstar to get milk and bread for their kids at Bottom Dollar.
