Critz Puts Together Campaign Team

By Elyse Clonan, Contributing Writer

The new, redrawn map of Pennsylvania congressional districts unveiled last month will be pitting two Democratic incumbents head-to-head in a primary election. The fourth district, represented by Jason Altmire and the twelfth district, represented by Mark Critz were combined in the plan approved by the Republican-controlled PA state legislature.

The candidates have wasted little time putting together their campaigns. Altmire announced his team last week.

In a press release Tuesday Critz said his race would be spearheaded by campaign manager Tony Coppola.

“We hired the best and the brightest in this business, all of whom have track record of winning tough election fights,” Critz said.

  1. I live not to far from where Jason grew up and I’m voting for Mark. Mark relates more to the overall district than Jason.

  2. I would not rule out a possible run for office in Cambria County for Critz or possibly even an attempt on his part to follow Mark Singel’s path to Lt Governor. He probably knows what he is doing in this case.

  3. The district number was the choice of GOP legislative leaders, not of Critz’s party. The 19th served by Todd Platts was bound to receive the eliminated district’s number. I am neutral in this primary and, although I dont expect Critz to win given the numbers of voters per county in this case, I do expect Altmire to learn from the Democratic voters of the eastern counties and carry it on to victory in November.

  4. Sounds like a winning team that Congressman Critz has put together. They still call it the 12th for a reason. Congressman Critz will still be the one that holds that seat.
