David to Run in New PA-4

Republican businessman Dan David announced he will run for Congress in the new 4th Congressional district.

“When I grew up, we made cars in Flint and could not drink the water in Mexico.  Today, we make cars in Mexico and can’t drink the water in Flint. This is a tragedy for our country. In Congress I will dedicate myself to fixing these issues for struggling communities in the 4th District and across the USA.” David said.

President Donald Trump used the same line during the 2016 Presidential campaign, telling the Economic Club of New York, “It used to be cars were made in Flint and you couldn’t drink the water in Mexico. Now cars are made in Mexico, and you can’t drink the water in Flint, but we’re going to turn this around.”

David originally announced his bid for the old 15th district before the state Supreme Court redrew the Congressional map.

The new 4th district is centered in Montgomery county.

    The 4th District Candidates are:

    Kris Hart
    Marina Kats

    1. David Diano says:

The only candidates that matter are:

The winner of the Dem primary will be the congress woman for the district

      1. Robert B Sklaroff, M.D. says:

…sez the guy who admittedly didn’t even know the geography of the district.

        1. David Diano says:

The number (unlike you) don’t lie:

The district has approx 210K Dems vs 170K Republicans. It’s a Dem wave year, and Montco Dems have already been winning countywide, and have tons of political infrastructure.

          1. Robert B Sklaroff, M.D. says:

The numberS don’t tell the whole story, again illustrating why I’m the truth-teller here [as opposed to yourself, as you admitted].

Know that your “wave” could transform into a tsunami [with profound undertoe]; that The Donald attracts many Dems [as will other Rs who promote his agenda], and that all the expensive infrastructure enjoyed by your felonious-pal Hillary couldn’t put Humpty-Dumpty-Clinton together on 11/8/2016.

  5. Zakrey Bissell says:

he would be a longshot in this race for 2018. because it is now a Democratic District not a Republican District.

  6. David Diano says:

It’s a NON-gerrymandered seat that is completely within one county.

    1. MontcoWatch says:

Incorrect. It extends into Berks County.

      1. Robert B Sklaroff, M.D. says:

        AGAIN, d2 is proven incorrect.

      2. David Diano says:

I forgot about the tiny intrusion into Berks. It’s only 2.5 % of the 4th, needed to make up for the pieces of the 1st and 5th that overflowed into Montco.

It’s still not gerrymandered as it’s a smooth chunk from the adjacent border. The GOP would have used gerrymandering to “drill a hole” to the other side of Berks to pick up some precincts they wanted.

The new map is far better than the old map which had Montco in 5 different congressional districts. The new 4th is around 85.5% of Montco. Given that Montco’s population is 800K and the districts are a little over 700K, a district 100% in Montco would be about 88% of Montco. Some adjustments are needed to keep the surrounding counties having a minimum of splits.

Cry all you want. It’s a fair map.

    2. Bruce Castor's lack of imagination says:

And a northern portion of Montco is included in the new “non gerrymandered” Bucks district

      1. Anonymous says:

@David- when is the Daylin-Cara Taylor story gonna hit?

        1. David Diano says:

It got delayed with the storm and power-outages, because they had to reschedule interview with Daylin. The story is already written, but given the explosive nature of the allegations, they want to give him a chance to respond. (In Daylin’s case, it’s really enough rope to hang himself, since his previous efforts at his own opinion piece dug himself a deeper hole.)

  7. MontcoWatch says:

I’ve been immersed in Montco politics for more than two decades, long enough to remember when Bruce Castor was a hot shot First Assistant D.A. and the GOP’s great white hope. Who the hell is this guy?

    1. Bruce Castor's lack of imagination says:

So much ancient history. He can’t even hold on to school district solicitor now.

    2. Jules Winnfield says:

Dan David is a business owner who ivestigated and uncovered a hundered billion dollar on going fraud in which Chinese compines were stealing billions from mom and pop investors and retirememnt plan. So he did something about it and went to congress spent over 100k of his own to lobby to make it illegal for chinese corp to steal from the American Worker! They did nothing so now Dan David will.

  8. Robert B Sklaroff, M.D. says:

    in the age-of-trump, it matters

  9. jim says:

Doesn’t matter. He’s wasting his time and money. It’s a judicialmandered Democratic seat.

  10. Robert B Sklaroff, M.D. says:

He’s competing against Marina Kats, Esq.
