DCCC Launches Facebook Ads Against 4 Pa. Congressmen

The Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee (DCCC) is launching Facebook ads against Reps. Ryan Costello (R-Chester), Pat Meehan (R-Delaware), Brian Fitzpatrick (R-Bucks), and Lloyd Smucker (R-Lancaster) on healthcare as part of a national ad buy.

“From voting to repeal the Affordable Care Act dozens of times, to their heartless repeal bill, it’s clear that kicking millions of Americans off their health insurance, increasing costs, slapping an age tax on older Americans and destroying protections for those with pre-existing conditions is the House Republican gameplan. Representatives Costello, Meehan, Fitzpatrick and Smucker own this disastrous plan, and this digital ad campaign will educate voters in our battlefield about the morally bankrupt age tax and remind people what is at stake in the midterms,” DCCC spokesman Evan Lukaske said in a statement.

The ad focuses on the what Democrats call the “age tax” that was part of the Republican healthcare plan.

The ads will be running this week in each of the districts.  Short digital ad buys like this are often used to engage the base and gained earned media coverage.

The National Republican Congressional Committee responded to the ads, going on the offensive against the DCCC and the Affordable Care Act.

“Democrats are suffering from amnesia if they claim to have any credibility on healthcare. The Obamacare death spiral continues to increase costs and decrease accessibility – and voters see through their desperate attempts to shift blame elsewhere,” NRCC spokesman Chris Martin said in an email.

  1. “ObamaCare death spiral”? The GOP is still the party that tried just a couple of months ago to increase premiums and other costs, kick millions off of the rolls of insured, and make insurance too expensive for millions more in the next ten years. They have no ideas in how to fix healthcare, and they work to make it more expensive for middle class Americans so some welfare queen billionaire, like that bum Trump or the Walton family (Walmart) can get a tax break.

  2. This is a dishonest ad. Neither Fitzpatrick, Meehan nor Costello voted for the Republican health care plan.

    1. Agreed. It makes no sense. If you’re going to spend money 430 days out from the election, it better be hard hitting. Or yaknow…at least make the hits true?

  3. When you look at the leadership of either the DNC or DCCC, you see the problem. They are so out of touch with middle class Americans, it isn’t funny. But as long as they keep this leadership and they are the “decision makers”, the Republicans will remain firmly in control.

  4. JOKE. Costello didn’t even vote for the health care bill on the floor. This makes no sense. The DCCC keeps getting worse man. Not only are these ads pathetic, but they are BLATANTLY LYING. No wonder why Republicans won everything in 2016.

    1. They all lie and neither party has an exclusive on fibs. That’s politics, man. Where the republicans win is by lying better to dumb Democrats who fall for the con and cross over. The R’s can’t win anything without Democrat votes, evidence as Rotfus, who is too dumb to find his own way out of a snowstorm finds his way back into office by raising millions and buying noxious airtime. I have to shut up now because the godfather says we still own him and he is good for La familia Zap. So, there’s that. Vote Republican, they stay bought.
