Democratic State Committee Preview – Summer 2012

State committee meetings of both parties tend to involve lots of politicos, booze and late nights. But what will happen when gambling is added to the equation? Find out this weekend!

Democrats from across PA are meeting at the Valley Forge Casino Resort in King of Prussia Friday night and Saturday to talk general election strategy – and Charlotte convention plans.

Massachusetts Governor Deval Patrick is keynoting the Keystone Dinner on Friday night which will also feature Sen. Bob Casey. Expect Patrick to slam his predecessor Mitt Romney as Dems get jazzed for the fall; the Obama campaign is hyping his appearance (and this recent op-ed).

The slate is set for 2012, so there isn’t much wrangling to be seen vis-a-vis public offices – unless some of the talked-about 2014 Guv prospects show up: Rob McCord, Joe Sestak and Josh Shapiro.

But it will be interesting to watch the final list of delegates be sorted out in the runup to Saturday afternoon.

Here’s the schedule of social events:

With the PA Young Democrats
