The Pennsylvania State Democratic Committee (PADSC) convened its General Business and Endorsement Meeting on Saturday and, as expected, endorsed Josh Shapiro and Austin Davis, but stopped short on giving a nod to a U.S. Senate candidate.
Four candidates were nominated in the Senate race – Conor Lamb, John Fetterman, Malcolm Kenyatta and. On the second ballot, Lamb received 159 of the 267 total votes but fell short of the two-thirds threshold of 176. Fetterman garnered 64 votes, while Kenyatta picked up 42. Arkoosh did not receive at least 15 percent of the vote on the initial ballot.
Shapiro was the lone candidate nominated for endorsement for governor, as was Davis for the lieutenant governor spot.
“I am humbled and proud to have the endorsement of the Pennsylvania Democratic Party in my campaign to be the next Governor of Pennsylvania,” said Shapiro. The stakes couldn’t be higher in 2022, and who we elect as our next Governor will shape Pennsylvania’s future.
Davis, who received Shapiro’s endorsement for lieutenant governor, picked up 206 votes to easily earn the state committee’s nod. Brian Sims received 80 votes while Ray Sosa got six.
“I look forward to working alongside Attorney General Shapiro in the coming months to win this election and move Pennsylvania forward through the policies of a Shapiro-Davis administration,” said Davis.

LMMMMFFFFAAAAOOOOOO!!!!!!!!
Lt. Gov Fetterman does not get the Dem nod for US Senate? Only gets 64 votes from Dem true believers and workers? It is a canary in the coal mine moment because it tells us that the rank and file Dem who does not prattle on 24/7 about Trump is not going for the 24/7/365 casual look Lt Fetterman and is certainly not enthused about his candidacy. This is bad news in November if Lt Gov Fetterman is the US Senate candidate. A statewide high ranking Dem office holder, Lt. Gov Fetterman, is bested by a Western Pa Congressman, Rep. Conor Lamb, 159 Dem State Committee votes to 64 is a disaster for the Fetterman campaign.
Absurd. Lamb spent the entire last year kissing the rears of these people. They are nobodies and their support quite literally means absolutely nothing. Fetterman is dominating the field in $ raised and more importantly how it is raised…. small donors. Lamb has run out of $2,900 donors. Connor got a little momentum going last week, but it’s pretty much over now.
Sorry the GQ man, Fetterman, is losing his lead. Sweat pants and gym shorts ain’t going to make it.
Lamb will win!!
This didn’t age well. Lamb down 30 in latest
So Dems are putting forward a 32 yr old for Lt Guv?
It’s either Davis, who will help in the west and help get out the African American vote in November, which will be needed, or sims who does not help Shapiro geographically, has no accomplishments to list after 10 years as a state rep, and is only known for throwing bombs at republicans and even fellow democrats. Sims has spent a lot of time traveling back and forth to LA, and even went to Africa and Israel too! ????But other than that, he’s spent his time in the house posting himself on the web using profanity on republicans and stalking old women and teenage girls in front of planned parenthood.
Davis is the smart choice. Davis for the win.
The third paragraph and the fifth (regarding LG nominations) somewhat contradict each other. Just a little typo. Glad to see coverage has come back. It’s good to see an active site again!
