Denlinger Enters Race for Lieutenant Governor

Former state Rep. Gordon Denlinger (R-Lancaster) announced he is running for Lieutenant Governor in a letter to Republican State Party members Monday night.

“It is for these reasons that I humbly seek your support as I run for Lieutenant Governor of Pennsylvania,” Denlinger wrote in the letter.

In the letter Denlinger continues the comparison he made in an interview with PoliticsPA earlier this year of him and Vice President Mike Pence.

“Just as Vice President Mike Pence helped to balance our national ticket in 2016, I will do the same for our ticket in Pennsylvania. With a proven twelve-year voting record in the state house, I am the social and fiscal conservative who will be an experienced, steady partner for our next chief executive,” Denlinger wrote.

In the letter Denlinger alludes to businessman Jeff Bartos, who ended his run for U.S. Senate to run for Lieutenant Governor as a ticket with state Senator Scott Wagner (R-York).

“My purpose in running is to restore honor and integrity in the office and as I do so, to give you, the elected members of Republican State Committee a say and a choice in the formation of our 2018 ticket. It would be my honor to serve with whomever you choose for the top of the ticket.”
