Pa Auditor General Eugene DePasquale says he's not running for Congress, citing his campaign pledge to serve out his full 2nd term

DePasquale, of York county, won re-election in 2016 pledging to serve out the entire second term.
He had been rumored to be considering a run for Congress after the state Supreme Court redrew the Congressional maps, putting him into the new 10th district. The new district includes northern York county, part of Cumberland county, and all of Dauphin county.

Good choice Eugene of not running for congress but I will be supporting for the Incumbent in this race for 2018.
He’s stuck between a rock and a hard place: lose to Perry in 2018 or lose the Democratic nomination for governor to Shapiro in 2022.
The 10th’s loss is the Commonwealth’s gain. Glad to see the Auditor General sticking it out to continue his good work in Harrisburg.
Agreed. There will be bigger roles in the future.
Humbug. His daddy jeep was a real man who always stuck with la familia. Sonny is off chasing windmills and we can’t count on him to look the other way even when we are pointing. He did stay out of our cash for kids near miss though so maybe there is hope.
It would have been a free run for him and I think he would have had a decent shot. Sad commentary when being Auditor General of PA is a better job than a member of Congress.
Actually, Eugene is pretty good at his job and uncovers lots of corruption. Happy to see him finish out his term.
The new 10th is a “climb” with 84 Dems for every 100 R’s. But, there are also 30 Indies for every 100 R’s in that mix.
In a wave year, with a solid guy like Eugene, it’s a winnable seat (though on the edge of winnable).
Real reason, because it’s not a sure thing i could win.
Seriously is right, also, ask his staff about him. He’s a dick.
