Dougherty Formally Announces Candidacy for Supreme Court

Philadelphia Court of Common Pleas Judge Kevin Dougherty has officially announced his candidacy to the Pennsylvania Supreme Court.

In his announcement video, Dougherty talks about his early days in the court when his dad, who served as a Court Officer for the Philadelphia Family Court for 36 years, would take him to the court on his days off so he could watch the trials happen.

Among those appearing in the two-minute spot are Philadelphia District Attorney Seth Williams and former DHS Commissioner Alba Martinez.

Dougherty is currently the Administrative Judge of the Philadelphia Court of Common Pleas’ Trial Division. He has served on the Court since 2001. He has also previously served on the Philadelphia Family Court as an Administrative Judge for nearly a decade.

Kevin Dougherty is the brother of IBEW 98 Business Manager John Dougherty.

  1. His pop up ad on this site, that I can’t close on my phone (no option yo close it), is annoying the hell out of me.

  2. No criminal experience to be on the Supreme Court. I guess he thinks his money will buy him a seat.
