DSCC Launches Digital Ads Against Barletta, Bartos & Saccone

The Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee (DSCC) is launching new digital ads against Congressman Lou Barletta (R-Luzerne), Jeff Bartos, and state Representative Rick Saccone (R-Allegheny) using Google’s new bumper ads.  

The ads target the Republicans on the GOP’s healthcare plan.  

“The Republican’s health care plan is striking Americans families in their everyday lives and in their most challenging moments — spiking their costs and stripping away coverage they are depending on so that big insurance companies can get another tax break,” DSCC spokesman David Bergstein said in a release.  

Google bumper flock ads are series of sequential 6 second unskippable ads that play across a user’s internet travels.  

The ads are part of a six-figure national ad buy by the DSCC.  The ads will run statewide targeting midterm voters, especially women and seniors.  

The decision to target three candidates in the ad could be the DSCC wanting to make the race more than a run-off between Barletta and Bartos next year.  

The National Republican Senatorial Committee responded to the ads by taking the opportunity to take a strike at Senator Bob Casey.  

“The DSCC knows that Bob Casey is in deep trouble in 2018. Casey has accomplished nothing in his decade in the Senate, so the fact that Washington Democrats are already rushing to his defense with misleading ads is no surprise,” NRSC spokesman Bob Salera said in an email.

  1. Casey has my vote in 2018. He is a strong LGBT advocate and the last thing we need is one more Republican Senator.
