Eagen Announces Commonwealth Court Candidacy

eagenTodd Eagen is giving it another try.

In 2015, the attorney ran for a seat on Pennsylvania’s Commonwealth Court. He won the endorsement of the party and the support of Senator Bob Casey but he was upset by Allegheny City Solicitor Michael Wojcik in the Democratic primary.

Wojcik later went on to win that seat in November.

“Pennsylvania families deserve a judge who will serve them with integrity and dedication,” Eagen stated in his official release. “I’ll strive to protect our commonwealth’s strong tradition of hard work and family values. My experience gives me the perspective to properly serve working families throughout the entire state, along with advocating for public safety.”

The Commonwealth Court currently contains six Republicans, one Democrat and two temporary appointees.

  1. Anyone know the new terms for the Supreme Court judges now that the law passed? Does that not affect superior and commonwealth judges?

It is incredibly stupid that that question was passed and now we have a stupid, unnecessary change in the law.

  2. Tito, you don’t know what you’re talking about. Commonwealth Court has always had a far better reputation than the clowns on our Supreme Court. It takes a brain to hear administrative litigation; not so much for criminal appeals and slip-and-fall cases.

  3. I was happy to vote for him last time and look forward to doing so again. Todd Eagen is a great man of integrity and sound judgement. Glad to see him throwing his hat back in the ring.

  4. Yes. That particular court is simply bad. Gets reversed by the Supreme Court more than any other intermediate appellate court gets reversed anywhere in The United States.

  5. I voted for him last time and will be supporting and voting for him again. He is a great guy and I feel will be a fair and knowledgeable judge.
