Exclusive: Mango Announces Endorsement From Four County Commissioners

Mango FacebookPaul Mango’s campaign for Governor is announcing endorsements from four county commissioners from throughout Pennsylvania.  The four are Commissioners Jeff Haste (R-Dauphin), Joe Kantz (R-Snyder), Christian Leinbach (R-Berks), and Diana Irey Vaughan (R-Washington).

“I am honored to received the endorsement of this terrific group of Pennsylvania leaders. Jeff Haste, Joe Kantz, Christian Leinbach, and Diana Irey Vaughan are leaders in their counties and they speak for the priorities and values of hardworking Pennsylvania families across the Commonwealth,” Mango said in a release obtained by PoliticsPA.

The endorsements could help Mango as he pushes to get the nomination, as well as the endorsement of the Republican party for next year’s primary.  Irey Vaughan won the party’s endorsement and the primary in 2012 before losing to Rob McCord in the general election.

Leinbach is known to county commissioners throughout the state, he is a Past President of the County Commissioners Association of Pennsylvania.

Announcing these endorsements this early in the election cycle could be used as a way to help silence critics who have pushed a lack of financial support at the state level against Mango.  It can also help reassure donors that his campaign has support of party insiders who will help him navigate the process to the endorsement.

To go along with the endorsement, the Mango campaign released a video for the endorsement that can be viewed below.

PA has 50+ counties. Each county has 3 commissioners. Thus, close to 200 total. Mango got 4. So that’s like 2%. WOW!!!

  2. John says:

really? 4 county commissioners like him and that makes him a ‘insider’ a pretty low bar tony.

My god what does that make Scott and the Speaker? Mango is no insider. Do your homework.

  3. Tony says:

He seems to have the “party elites” behind him.. Sorry cant ever vote for someone who is an “party insider” anymore.. If they are Dems or Rep it doesnt matter vote against the Party establisments.

I see what your saying, and idk if I’ll end up voting for him yet, but I really do not think he qualifies as an insider just by gaining support. Heck, in that breath Trump would be an insider. Mango comes from outside of politics and is a vet, definitely not an insider.

      1. PAFirstForPeople says:

He is opposite of ‘insider’ Wagner and Turzai are both insiders. Mango is the only outsider in the race…
