All of that and more are in this week’s Ups and Downs.

  1. We can debate the pot laws till the end of time but the truth is that the decision has already been made with pot. Since the 60’s and 70’s and onward generations have taken this substance from the realm of musicians and beatnik artists and brought it into everyday life. They never stopped smoking pot. Even now as many are entering their latter years. Pot is so prevalent that it is now a question on every new patient form for doctors. It’s not going to go away. The decision has been made by society on this issue. Case closed.

  2. The NRCC is too smart to be delusional so I can only assess that this “joke list” they came up with targeting assorted districts is nothing more than a fund raising ploy because if you look under the hood the “targeted districts” at least some are clearly uphill climbs. Specifically, The district held by Cartwright in Pa was held for the most part by Dems for decades. There was the occasional R but it was primarily a Dem district. Of course, counties are subtracted and added due to redistricting but the Cartwright district has had many core counties. Now suddenly it’s a “Trump district” that Trump won which over looks both district history and that Chrin got thumped in 2016. It seems the NRCC list is a lot of smoke and mirrors.

  3. Republicans claim they support free enterprise and small government, but get all draconian when talking about marijuana or any criminal justice policy.

  4. Lt. Governor John Fetterman is not on a “statewide marijuana listening tour,” he’s tripping.
