The John Fetterman campaign is reporting that it has raised $500,000 over the last 24 hours since the viral tweet about crudite.
The campaign seized advantage of a viral video of his opponent, Mehmet Oz, mispronouncing the name of the grocery store where he was shopping for crudite.
At least $65,000 of that $500K total was raised through a new sticker offering with the phrase “Wegners: Let Them Eat Crudite,” to anyone who donated any amount.
“Our supporters — and everyone, really, from a look at the past few days — love to dunk on Dr. Oz,” said Brendan McPhillips, campaign manager for Fetterman’s Senate campaign. “Our campaign isn’t self-funded by a multi-millionaire celebrity doctor, it’s funded by hundreds of thousands of grassroots donors. John actually understands what it’s like to go grocery shopping and to see prices go up. Oz clearly has never been in a grocery store before. That’s why this is resonating with supporters across Pennsylvania.”

Dr Oz Wegners comment coupled with the Walk of Fame trip reflects a lack of confidence that is surprising. Bartos rattled Fetterman in the Lt Gov debate and race but Dr Oz has been a far worse in the Senate race as a candidate. Dr Oz is so bad the Republican Senate committee is pulling media. Biggest surprise of this election season is Dr Oz horrible performance in the Senate race. Bartos ran a lot better race against Fetterman.
The use of the word “crudité” smacks of elitism on the part of Oz. Veggie tray would have been more easily understood by MOST Pennsylvanians! Won’t expound on his malaprop about Wegner’s. No wonder Fetterman raised $500k over this debacle.
Fool didn’t even look up at the huge sign above the produce case with the Store name Redners in 12″ high letters???
You kwazy wabbit- I said Wegner, not Wegner.
