LANGHORNE, Pa.– Yesterday, the Fitzpatrick Campaign began airing the first television ad of the fall campaign season in the race for Pennsylvania’s Eighth Congressional District. The ad available here begins airing as the Fitzpatrick campaign continues to gain momentum heading towards Election Day. In recent weeks, the Cook Political Report and even The New York Times have classified the race between Mike Fitzpatrick and Congressman Patrick Murphy as a true toss-up. A late August poll of the Eighth Congressional District gave Fitzpatrick a 7-point edge over Murphy, and a recently disclosed memo from Congressman Murphy’s pollster predicts a very tight race.
“I have been humbled by the support I have received across the district, but we still have seven weeks until Election Day,” Fitzpatrick said, “citizens are tired of bailouts, higher taxes, massive deficits and government-run healthcare. Government does not create jobs, but Congressman Murphy’s liberal policies in Washington have certainly eliminated jobs. We need a new direction for America. We need a Congressman won’t be a rubber stamp for Nancy Pelosi’s failed policies.”
