LANGHORNE, Pa-Today, Mike Fitzpatrick called on House Speaker Nancy Pelosi to give Congressman Patrick Murphy permission to support an extension of the 2001 and 2003 tax cuts set to expire on January 1, 2011.
“We know that Patrick Murphy likes to do as he’s told by Nancy Pelosi. Since being elected to Congress Patrick Murphy has voted with Nancy Pelosi 97 percent of the time. But right now, the economic stakes are too high for such blind loyalty,” Fitzpatrick said, “other Democrats in the House of Representatives including: Jim Himes (D-CT), Bobby Bright (D-AL), Ron Klein (D-FL), Gerry Connolly (D-VA), Gary Peters (D-MI), and Harry Mitchell (D-AZ) have all called for a stop to all the tax hikes scheduled for January 1st and Patrick Murphy should too.
“If Patrick Murphy feels uncomfortable breaking from Nancy Pelosi on this issue then I call on Speaker Pelosi to give Patrick Murphy a permission slip to oppose this looming, massive tax hike.”
