Lacking Plan on Economy, Murphy Goes Negative
Attacks Fitzpatrick then hightails to Washington
LANGHORNE, Pa.-In his first ad of the campaign season, Congressman Patrick Murphy began airing negative attacks ads against Mike Fitzpatrick today. While Murphy’s ad attacks Mike Fitzpatrick, it fails to mention that Murphy supported and voted for the Wall Street Bailout, Cash for Clunkers, the Stimulus and Obamacare. Also absent from the ad is the fact that Murphy supports the Obama-Pelosi agenda 97 percent of the time.
“Patrick Murphy can’t run on his record because it is a record of failed policies, high unemployment and economic malaise,” Fitzpatrick said, “Murphy also can’t run on his plan because he frankly doesn’t have one. Attacking me might make Congressman Murphy feel better about his record, but it won’t help the economy and it certainly won’t help create jobs.”
Patrick Murphy’s ad begins airing as he ends his summer vacation and returns to Washington. “It’s ironic that Congressman Murphy chose to begin airing his dirty laundry on the day he leaves for Washington so that he won’t have to watch his own negative ads,” said Fitzpatrick.
Fitzpatick again called on Murphy to tell the voters of the Eighth Congressional District what his plan is to create jobs and grow the economy. “Congressman Murphy is going to Washington today for two weeks of work. He needs to tell us what he’s going to do while he’s there.”
