Former Budget Secretary Charged With Domestic Assault

Zogby MugshotCharles Zogby is being charged with simple assault and harassment.

According to John Joyce of the York Dispatch, police were called to his home over the weekend. They found Georgina Zogby bloodied and crying. She told the officers her husband had punched and choked her.

Apparently, police have made several visits to the home over the past three years.

Zogby served as Education Secretary and Policy Director under Governor Tom Ridge and continued in the former role under Gov. Mark Schweiker. During Governor Tom Corbett’s Administration, he served as Budget Secretary.

Zogby was released on $2,500 bond and has a preliminary hearing scheduled for August 29th.

  2. I remember when his wife made the press for dui, there was a lot of sympathy for Charles. There is no question that his wife suffers from alcoholism, but that is no excuse for domestic violence. Let’s not blame the victim for her husband’s violence.

  4. Brandy, as Democrats, we really don’t have any room to be making statements like that. 2015 and 2016 have been the year of the Democratic Party Parade to Prison. No reason to think that 2017 will be any different.

  5. His wife is the town drunk, so it seems like the guy finally lost it. He should have just cut her loose before he got to the point of beating her.
