Former U.S. Rep. Bob Walker endorsed Curt Schroder’s 6th District Congressional candidacy, his campaign said Wednesday.
Schroder faces Republicans Howard Cohen, Patrick Sellers, Steve Welch and newly declared Walt Hufford in a primary expected to be very competitive. Schroder and Welch are seen as the early front-runners for the seat, which is being vacated by incumbent U.S. Rep. Jim Gerlach.
Walker, who attended the formal beginning of Schroder’s candidacy Monday night, said he “could not think of anyone who we would be more delighted to see in the U.S. Congress.”
Schroder, a state lawmaker, has received support from a wide variety of elected officials.
