Forward Party Places Pair on PA Ballot

Eric Settle, Chris Foster, Forward Party

Add two more names to the general election ballot in the Commonwealth as the Forward Party achieved ballot access for its statewide candidates.

Montgomery County’s Eric Settle and Allegheny County’s Chris Foster will be placed on the November ballot for Attorney General and State Treasurer, respectively.

Settle has served as Deputy General Counsel to former Gov. Tom Ridge, as well as serving on Gov. Josh Shapiro’s transition team. A graduate of Harriton High School and Colgate University, he was the president of Main Line Reform Temple, a Trustee of Colgate University, Bryn Mawr Rehabilitation Hospital and the Endowment Corporation of the Jewish Federation of Greater Philadelphia.

“As a veteran attorney with experience at the highest levels of state government, I’ve seen how the legacy parties are more interested in advancing their own interests than those of the people, and I know that we can do better,” said Settle. “That’s the goal of the Forward Party – to ensure the people are truly represented in government. Voting for me along with Chris Foster for Treasurer, the people of Pennsylvania will send a powerful message that these officers in state government should be neutral umpires, calling balls and strikes, not out there calling the game for partisan ends.”

“Partisanship is approaching pre-Civil War levels, and our upcoming election is likely to inflame these feelings even further,” said Andrew Yang, co-chair of the national Forward Party. “While Forward isn’t getting involved in the presidential race, we find it key to our mission to advance candidates for down ballot races that can stand above this fray and serve their communities.

“That is why I am excited to have Eric Settle representing Forward on the ballot this November. It is critical that Pennsylvania’s chief legal and law enforcement officer stand above this fray, interested only in the rule of the law and people of the Commonwealth, not fighting for partisan aims that leave Pennsylvanians behind.”

Foster, a graduate of Marist University, is a Pittsburgh native and entrepreneur and has served as a tennis professional and a real estate sales associate.

“Keeping track of the people’s money fully and fairly so that the people can be certain it is being spent to improve their communities is the Treasurer’s job, but the Republicans and Democrats keep turning this office into a political football,” said party co-chair Christie Todd Whitman. “A truly independent Treasurer is what Pennsylvania deserves, and they will have that in Chris Foster.

“I was on the ground collecting signatures in Pennsylvania, and it is obvious the people are ready for new and better options. I couldn’t be more excited to be a part of a movement that’s working to give those choices to American voters.”

National Forward CEO Lindsey Drath said that it was volunteers and donors across the Commonwealth that enabled Settle and Foster to gain access to the ballot.

“In the end, they submitted substantially more signatures than legally required and heard directly from many thousands of voters that they want more and better choices than are being offered by the Republicans and Democrats.”
