Gerlach, Schwartz Support Hire Just One Initiative

Fox News reported Friday that Reps. Jim Gerlach (R) and Allyson Schwartz (D), have recently expressed their support for the‘Hire Just One’ program, a job creation initiative.

The program is explained on Hire Just One’s website as “an expedited process by which businesses are assigned the weekly unemployment compensation payments being received by each new person they hire.” The program aims to put the unemployed back to work so they can in turn become active consumers and help fuel the economy.

When a business hires someone who is receiving unemployment benefits, they recieve the unemployment compensation check rather than the employee. It is an incentive for businesses to hire unemployed workers.

Epstein claims that Hire Just One has the potential to create 2,850,000 new jobs in only 120 days.

Gerlach wants to start “the legislative process by getting the support and attention of the committee chairman where the bill we be, as well as the leadership in the House and Senate.”

One Response

  1. I’m happy to see someone finally working for the people instead of for their party! Thank you, Gerlach and Schwartz, for actually reaching across the aisle to get something good done. We need to get Americans back to work now, and only bipartisan efforts like Hire Just One are going to accomplish that.
