GOP PAC Blasts Finello on Links to Liberal Groups

A GOP super PAC endorsed by Republican House Leadership is using Christina Finello’s support from pro-choice groups to associate her with the “defund the police” movement in a new TV ad.

Finello, the Democratic challenger in the 1st Congressional District, has the backing of NARAL and Planned Parenthood Action Fund. Each weighed in on the police funding issue over the summer.

“Christina Finello is supported by the same radicals that want to defund our local police,” a voiceover says in the beginning of the ad titled, “Further” from the Congressional Leadership Fund. “Causing vandalism and crime to rise in our neighborhoods, leading to schools and parks that are less safe, by cutting crucial prevention programs and eliminating the officers in our communities who protect our most vulnerable.”

“If Christina Finello proudly sides with these extremists, how can Bucks County families ever trust her to keep us safe,” the voiceover asks towards the end of the ad.

Finello’s campaign called the attack ads a sign that Republicans see her as a real threat to unseat the incumbent, and linked Fitzpatrick to Trump.

“This ad would be laughable, were it not so sad and desperate,” said Ali Anderson, Finello campaign manager. “But once again, Brian Fitzpatrick remains silent in the face of a Trump-sized lie, happy to let others do his dirty work and refusing to take responsibility. It’s a vintage Donald Trump tactic.”

While Finello has voiced her opposition to defunding the police, NARAL and Planned Parenthood Action Fund both issued statements in solidarity with the movement .

Both pro-choice groups cited her support for abortion rights in their endorsement. In 2019, NARAL gave Fitzpatrick a 10% grade, while VoteSmart.org reports that Fitzpatrick has a 27% grade from the Planned Parenthood Action Fund.

On Wednesday, the CLF announced attack ads in 17 districts around the nation. PA1 is the only one in the Keystone State.

This attack ad is the latest interjection in the race from CLF in suburban Philadelphia. Last week, CLF shared an exclusive poll with PoliticsPA that showed Fitzpatrick leading Finello by 16 points. A bevy of Democratic-backed polling shows the race neck-and-neck in the district.

This also isn’t the first TV spot of the cycle to link Finello to crime related issues. Just a few weeks after Rep. Brian Fitzpatrick (R-Bucks) and the National Republican Congressional Committee released an attack ad linking Dem challenger Christina Finello to the defunding the police movement

Last cycle, Fitzpatrick attempted to link Dem challenger Scott Wallace to Mumia Abu-Jamal for donations he made to ‘Democracy Now!,’ a liberal-leaning news outlet. In 2012, the NRCC released an ad also linking the Democratic candidate that year to Mumia Abu-Jamal.

Several ratings outlets currently have the race as Leans Republican.

  1. Fitzpatrick cruises to re-election and can now start looking at Toomey’s Senate seat.

    Fitzpatrick by 20

  2. Yeah… because everyone in Bucks county is talking about all those riots in Bucks county. WTF??

PA-1 has 12,000 more Dems then Repubs
    and 75,000 independent/3rd party.

50% of the Dems have already requested absentee ballots, and 30% of Independents. Only 23% of Repubs have requested ballots.

These are a lot more votes in the bank for the Dems.

    1. Double Douche-

People in Bucks see a bunch 9f communists burning things under the premise of racism and examples of people abused by police when they committed crimes. The police were justified.

Turds like you spread more shit around for uninformed children to enjoy as they roll around in it complaining about America and glorifying an irrational revolution.

Republicans suck, but they don’t have the blood and treasure of America on US soil as a result of your blind stupidity and regurgitating the democratic party message.

Fuck you and your commie sympathizing comrades.

    1. If you’re really Pete Kostmayer, why should anyone give a hot damn what your opinion of the candidates for PA-01 is? You’re not from Bucks, and you haven’t lived in Bucks for several years – clearly Congress was a resume filler for you and you’ve moved on to better things.

  3. Fitzpatrick campaign is rattled which means Dems are winning. Keep linking Fitzpatrick to Trump in Bucks County. Very effective argument to defeat Fitzpatrick.

  4. Somebody should doctor a video to show her opponent humping a pig, not Melania, and post it in revenge.

    1. Great idea. What is your wife doing Monday between 10-12 a.m.? Does she have a SAG-AFTRA card? If not, one can be arranged.
