Gravis Marketing Poll: Saccone 45 Lamb 42

In the last Gravis Marketing poll ahead of the special election for the 18th Congressional district, Republican Rick Saccone holds a slight lead over Democrat Conor Lamb, but the margin is within the margin of error.

According to the poll that was completed with Real Clear Politics 45% of voters support Saccone and 42% support Lamb.

Lamb does pull support from self described Trump voters though, with 13% of Trump voters saying they would vote for him, while only 4% of Clinton voters support Saccone.

The closeness of the roll is highlighted by the shift of support for Trump.  Trump won the district by 20 points in 2016, but according to the poll Trump has a 49-43 approval rating.

The poll shows that the Republican tax reform bill has support in the district, with 48% approving of the bill, 36% disapproving, and 16% being uncertain.

The poll sampled 911 likely voters in the district using using interactive voice responses and an online panel of cell phone users between March 1st and 5th.  The poll has a margin of error of 3.3%.

    1. Because it would be a waste of time and resources to even ask. What percentage of the district are Libertarians?
