According to a domain lookup via WHOis, Rep. Allyson Schwartz’s Political Director Neil Deegan registered the website on Feb. 9, just a day after her staff began a full court press around the idea that she would challenge Tom Corbett in 2014.
This is on top of her current AllysonSchwartz.com domain. She’s used that for her congressional campaigns, although the site heading makes no mention of a particular office.
Buying a domain name is hardly a smoking gun (it costs a few bucks), but it connotes a level of logistical planning that goes beyond rumors.
Tom Fitzgerald of the Philadelphia Inquirer has a thorough roundup of the latest indications that Schwartz, the Democrat who has represented part of southeast Pa. in Congress since 2004, is likely to get in the Guv 2014 race.
FWIW, McCordforGovernor.com remains available.
