Democratic candidate Sarah Del Ricci picked up another endorsement ahead of Tuesday’s HD-170 special election.
Humane PA, a nonpartisan group supporting animal rights, announced its endorsement of Del Ricci on Friday, reminding supporters to vote for the Democrat next week.
This is the latest in a string of endorsements Del Ricci has earned in the home stretch of the special election to fill Rep. Brendan Boyle’s State House seat. Just on Monday, she announced a group of endorsements from the state’s biggest labor unions, including the PA AFL-CIO.
Humane PA highlighted Del Ricci’s connections to animals, including her work as a veterinary assistant in her hometown for eight years. In 2012, Del Ricci founded the Parkwood Therapeutic Riding Center, and she cares for the 18 horses used in the therapy program, in addition to several other household pets.
“Sarah Del Ricci vows to be one of the premier animal advocates in our legislature,” Human PA wrote in a statement announcing the endorsement. “From her first pets as a child to being a competitive horseback rider to her occupation today, her life’s work and passion has been with animals.”
Del Ricci faces GOP candidate Martina White in the race to claim Boyle’s seat. The special election is scheduled for March 24.

What happened to all the important humane vote? Oh that’s right all six of them voted. Ha ha little short.
Lee the union imbecile. I will track you down wherever you try to spout this crap. Answer my questions coward how have democrats helped the city and more importantly NE philly the last 60 years. Democrats = high crime high taxes high unemployment high poverty ! Proven facts! High is what they are thinking liberal policies work
Humane Pa, They should call you in-humane Pa. The only people that think your humane are the criminals you Help every time you help a Democrat get elected in Northeast Philadelphia. They thank you for helping turn the once GREAT NE into a criminal friendly Neighborhood.
Animals may not vote, but people who care about their treatment do and according to a recent poll of Humane PA members – over 90% are politically active and vote regularly. Good luck tomorrow Sarah!
It seems like animals vote and give endorsments why would she get there endorsement she wore plenty of fur panties and things like that when she was entertaining the other animals that were drooling at her
Wolf is liberal garbage, who cares. Vote for White. Help save the Northeast from these Section 8 Loving Democrats. They already obliterated the Lower Northeast. Don’t let them do the same to Far Northeast.
Does Philadelphia Labor like Governor Wolf? Yes a White win will embarrass Stack, but it will also give the Republicans State wide the message that the reason DelRicci lost was a referendum against Governor’s Wolf Budget. Which is bad message for some petty Philadelphia Politicians to just hand them.as a gift.
Labor is backing White because they can’t stand Mike Stack or Sabatina. Thats what this is all about.
Brendan Boyle might not have written the article in this column but he is backing White with the help of his Philadelphia friends who happen to be Union Leaders. All because the Dems. would not support his chief of staff for the position. Anyone who doesn’t think White is not going to join the Union Breaking Republicans in the State House is dreaming. Boyle and his Union Buddies should know that The Governor’s office is paying attention to what they have done in this election and there will be a price to pay. A win by White will be called a public referendum against the Governor’s budget. Shame on Boyle for being so petty.
I love Rhubarb pie.
Pigdog.
Anyone who thinks the post on here from “Brendan Boyle” is actually from Congressman Brendan Boyle needs their head examined! The fact is anyone can post a comment usinh any name (as evidenced by my name!)
Brendan Boyle expected better from you. How immature; PEOPLE WITH ANIMALS VOTE!
I don’t see Sarah DelRicci slinging mud at anyone. She is too busy trying to get the job done. All she seems to want is a fair election.
Horses can’t vote! I’m still for Martina White in this race because she is simply the better candidate.
Porno Dave, That’s what you need another liberal Democrat to further ruin the once Great Northeast Philadelphia. Democrats turn everything they touch to garbage. When your neighborhood elects a Democrat get ready to get invaded by Crime, filth and horrible schools . They destroy everything in sight, Just like a swarm of LOCUSTS.
Mary it’s all about the votes . How many people from that PAC live in the district ? Maybe 4 ? Get real. Martina White was just endorsed by the YWCA of Knights Rd. That’s a bigger endorsement the humane society. The 2 unions that matter in the NE are police and fire both of which endorsed white. End of story. But I would love to see these to in a hot oil wrestling match in my basement.
If I were running for office and a PAC with almost 40,000 members (voters) endorsed me I think I would be pretty excited about that and more and more candidates are looking for that endorsement. I would have to say yes, it counts as an endorsement.
Are you kidding? This counts as an endorsement?
To little, to late.
