With all 52 precincts reporting, newcomer Joseph Szpara has a narrow lead over veteran Jesse White in the Democratic contest.

With just over a hundred votes between them, (4,516 votes to 4,414 votes) Szpara finished at 50.57% to White’s 49.43%.

White served the 46th district for 8 years before being defeated by GOP challenger Jason Ortitay in the 2014 general election.

The winner will face uncontested GOP incumbent Ortitay in the general election.

The 46th Legislative District covers part of Allegheny and Washington counties.
