HD-54: State Rep. Evankovich Will Pass on Fifth Term

evankovichThe 2016 election just ended, but candidates are already stating their intentions for the 2018 election.

Eli Evankovich announced today he will not be seeking re-election.

“It has truly been an honor to serve in the Pennsylvania House of Representatives on behalf of the people of the 54th district in Allegheny and Westmoreland counties,” the State Rep. began. “When I was first running for office in 2010, I made a commitment to the voters that I did not intend to serve a life-long career in public office.”

“Earlier this year, I was in a bad motorcycle accident, and thanks to God and superb medical care, I made a full recovery. It was, however, a life event that could have very easily gone in a much different direction, and it is what brought me to this very tough decision.”

“For my time remaining in public office, I will continue to work diligently towards the policies upon which I campaigned and defined my tenure over the past six years: government reform, private sector job growth and fiscal responsibility,” he concluded.

The 54th district includes parts of Allegheny and Westmoreland Counties.
