With just under three weeks until the special election, the Democrat lands on television first.
Bridget Malloy Kosierowski, a registered nurse born and raised in Clarks Summit, has launched her first television ad in the closely watched special election in the state’s 114th House District in Northeast Pennsylvania.
Kosierowski’s 30 second ad, People Ask, details exactly why she jumped in the race and the issues she has put at the forefront of her campaign.
“I believe in good jobs at a good wage for men and women,” she says after being asked why she decided to seek office.
“I believe in meaningful property tax reform for families and seniors,” Kosierowski said in the ad. “I believe in protecting victims of assaults and abuse and I believe that all of us deserve a leader who fights for what is right.”
Kosierowski is facing Republican Frank Scavo, a real estate investor and Old Forge School Board President, for the seat.
Scavo has made eliminating property taxes at the center of his campaign and has advocated for it in previous runs for elected office in the area, including his most recent bid for the 22nd state Senate district in 2018.
PoliticsPA is seeking comment from Scavo’s campaign on this ad.
According to FCC files, Kosierowski’s campaign is spending just under $10,000 on WNEP-TV and close to $1,200 on WBRE-TV.
The special election to fill the seat of the late Rep. Sid Michaels Kavulich, who died in October at the age of 62 from complications of open heart surgery, will be on March 12.

Why? Why? Why? Why is this ad so bad?
Brief. Neighborhood based. Folksy. Good local ad for a State Rep race especially in that district. It works.
Yeah if your neighborhood is all quarter million dollar homes. Clark’s summit is the rich suburb of Scranton.
This ad was filled with a whole lot of nothing
