The International Federation of Professional and Technical Engineers (IFPTE) is backing Kevin Strouse in his bid for Congress.

“Make no mistake about it, Kevin is the perfect candidate for working people,” said IFPTE Local 3 President, John Garrity. “Kevin’s support is a far cry from the current Congressman, who actually authored legislation on January 1st of this year to continue the federal employee pay freeze.”

IFPTE President, Gregory Junemann, also commented on their support for Strouse.

“It is high time that Bucks county working families get a congressman that will go to Washington to work on their behalf,” Junemann said. “Thankfully Kevin Strouse has stepped up to the plate and taken on that challenge. He is a true supporter of collective bargaining rights for workers and will fight to enact and protect policies that are important to working families. IFPTE is proud to lend our backing to his candidacy.”

Strouse and the other Democratic challenger Shaughnessy Naughton are currently vying for a chance to take on Mike Fitzpatrick in the general election next fall.

This is Strouse’s third labor endorsement so far in this campaign. Last month, he was endorsed by PASNAP and the American Postal Workers Union.

The PA-8 seat is considered to be one of the most open races in the country, and Cook Report recently downgraded Fitzpatrick after the shutdown.

  1. Strouse loses by double digits. No matter what Cook Says, Fitzpatrick will cruise to another decisive victory.
