Inside Election Labels PA’s 2022 Senate Race As a ‘Battleground’

Another national ratings outlet is looking ahead to the 2022 U.S. Senate races and Pennsylvania remains one of the closest to watch.

According to the analysts at Inside Elections, Pennsylvania’s 2022 Senate race is currently listed under the “battleground” category. There are eight races listed under that category – four seats currently held by Republicans and four currently held by Democrats.

The states that fall under the “Republican battleground” category alongside Pennsylvania are Florida, North Carolina, and Wisconsin. The four states that fall under the “Democratic battleground” category are Arizona, Georgia, New Hampshire, and Nevada.

Inside Elections is just the latest national ratings outlet to place Pennsylvania’s Senate race in a category that indicates the seat is up for grabs in 2022.

Larry Sabato’s Crystal Ball rated Pennsylvania’s Senate race in 2022 as the lone Toss Up of the cycle in its initial ratings, while the Cook Political Report listed Pennsylvania’s race as one of two states that are considered to be Toss Ups.

Inside Election’s final 2018 ratings listed the Senate race between Sen. Bob Casey (D) and Rep. Lou Barletta (R-Luzerne) as “Solid Democratic.” In 2016, Inside Election’s ratings just days before the election listed GOP Sen. Pat Toomey’s reelection bid against Democratic challenger Katie McGinty as a “Pure Toss Up.”

  1. Totally support and agree with gulag Pittsburgh that Dem party is the Nazi skunk party

  2. Gulag Pittsburgh is right about this race not being a battleground because the Dems are Nazi skunks, morons, racists, imbeciles, and white supremacists

  3. Inside Elections seems to be saying what is true. Hard to argue with facts. It’s all about who can raise the money to run.
