Former Philadelphia Assistant District Attorney Jack O’Neil announced he is officially running for District Attorney.
Last week, O’Neil filed nominating petitions with the city, but had not officially announced his bid.
“I worked tirelessly for victims of sexual assault, for gun violence victims. I know what needs to be done to reduce our gun violence problem,” O’Neil said in a statement.
O’Neil was a prosecutor in the Special Victims Unit before he left the office in 2016 to enter private practice.
Teresa Carr Deni, Tariq El-Shabazz, Joe Khan, Lawrence Krasner, Rich Negrin, and Michael Untermeyer also filed nominating petitions with the city.

Tim is a bigot. I hope Jack O’Neill loses so that bigots like Tim can go into oblivion.
I would like to see his resume before I make any judgements regarding Me. O’Neils candidacy!????????????????
better than having the Nation of Islam running the DA’s office
Yet another white guy with little or no political experience and no name recognition. Somewhere Tarik el Shabbaz is laughing. These people are clueless.
Photogenic guy
Who the hell is Jack O’Neill?
