The PA Supreme Court rules to uphold a Pittsburgh paid sick leave law, while the first Democrat officially announces a bid in Pennsylvania’s 16th Congressional District. Here is the Playbook. 

Fitzpatrick Joins Dems in Condemning Trump Tweet, Kelly’s Defense of Trump Goes Viral: The Bucks County Republican is the lone GOP member of his delegation to vote with the Democrats, while the Butler County Republican’s defense of Trump garners national attention.

PA Supreme Court: Pittsburgh’s Paid Sick Day Law Can Stand: The 2015 Pittsburgh City Council law requiring many private employers to provide paid sick days now gets the green light from the state Supreme Court.

Daniel Smith Jr. Announces Bid for PA16: Smith, who attempted to unseat state Rep. Daryl Metcalfe (R-Butler) in 2018, is the first Democrat to announce a bid against Rep. Mike Kelly for 2020.

Yang Philly Rally Postponed: 2020 Democratic presidential hopeful, Andrew Yang announced on Twitter that he was planning on holding a rally in Philadelphia today, but due to the heat wave will reschedule for a future date.
