(Butler, Pa.)—During a week with several scheduled business tours in the 3rd Congressional District, Mike Kelly announced the support of two pro-business organizations further underscoring his commitment to business and job creation.

The United States Chamber of Commerce, representing the interests of millions of businesses and organizations from across the United States, gave Kelly their endorsement to further their goal of “a pro-business Congress.”

“At no other time in our nation’s history has it been more critical that Members of Congress provide leadership that protects and advances the interests of the business community,” President and CEO of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce Thomas J. Donohue said. “We believe [Mike Kelly’s] election to the U.S. House will help produce sustained economic growth and help create more jobs.”

Chamber endorsements are often predictors of the victor–in the 2008 elections U.S. Chamber endorsements signaled the winning candidate in more than 80 percent of races.

The Business-Industry Political Action Committee (BIPAC) followed suit with their endorsement.

“We need to fix what is not working in Congress by electing candidates who are chosen by the frustrated voters of this cycle, inserting new voices that can reach consensus with colleagues and build essential support for tough choices,” BIPAC President and CEO Gregory S. Casey said. “We believe [Mike Kelly is] that candidate.”

“As a prominent businessman operating a chain of auto dealerships, [he knows] firsthand what it takes to run a business and meet a payroll. Like many families and businesses do every day, [he] believes the federal government should live within its means to end the huge federal deficits strangling economic prosperity for future generations,” Casey continued.

A long-time business owner and employer of more than 100 people in Butler, Pa., Kelly understands the woes that face fellow employers during the economic downturn facing the nation. But, despite the economic struggles, Kelly has established a proven track record of business expansion and job creation to fulfill demand while sustaining jobs when the economy struggles.  Kelly has pledged to run Washington like he does his business—by stopping wasteful spending on ideas that don’t work and instead finding common-sense solutions to create new jobs and partner with the people who are working hard to make America run. “It’s the Pathway to Prosperity,” Kelly explains.

“It’s time to get people who continually vote for wasteful, out-of-control spending out of office,” Kelly said. “Votes like that have a total disregard for the hardworking taxpayer. It’s time to end the generational theft that has been the heartbeat of Washington insiders’ for way too long. It’s time to get government out of the way and let America work.”
