Lentz Honors Working Familes and Unions on Labor Day

Springfield, PA – Today Representative Bryan Lentz, the Democratic nominee for Congress in Pennsylvania’s 7th Congressional District, issued the following statement to salute our working families on Labor Day, and the unions that represent them:

Working families form the backbone of the 7th District’s economy, and organized labor’s long tradition of ensuring good wages and safe working conditions has played a large role in providing them with the opportunity to take part in the American Dream. That collaboration continues to play an important role today in some of our District’s most important industries, including the building trades, manufacturing, health care and education.”

As we celebrate Labor Day with friends and family, we should also remember the difficult challenges our hard-working families are facing as the nation continues to recover from the recent recession. My number one priority as a Congressman will be putting in place policies that promote the creation of good-paying jobs, and help lay the foundation for future growth of businesses throughout the District.”

Lentz has made saving and creating jobs the cornerstone of his campaign for Congress. He is the only candidate with a published plan to get our economy moving again and the only candidate who supports Wall Street reform and the creation of a consumer financial protection agency to ensure another collapse does not happen.  Lentz has also pledged to end tax breaks for companies that ship jobs overseas while his opponent Pat Meehan has signed a pledge that has bound him to oppose legislation that has been introduced to end those tax breaks.

A former Airborne Ranger, criminal prosecutor and Iraq War veteran, Bryan Lentz currently serves in the Pennsylvania House of Representatives from Delaware County. He was awarded both the Bronze Star for Service and the War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal for his military service. He lives in Swarthmore with his wife Jennifer and their son Thomas.
