LFR Poll: Obama’s Lead Grows, Casey’s Dwindles

Obama, left, and Romney

The latest poll commissioned by Let Freedom Ring, Inc., shows that President Barack Obama holds a 48 percent to 44 percent advantage over Mitt Romney. The poll also shows Sen. Bob Casey’s lead slipping to 47 percent against Tom Smith’s 46 percent.

According to Public Opinion Research who conducted the poll on behalf of Let Freedom Ring, Inc., Obama’s lead is a one percent increase in Obama’s favor over the 47 percent to 45 percent lead which he held in the previous poll.

Along with his lead over Romney, Obama’s approval rating also increased by 1 percent, rising from 51 percent to 52 percent.

The poll also asked voters their level of support intensity for each candidate, a category in which Obama received 88 percent “sure vote Obama,” while the Romney camp earned a 89 percent “sure vote Romney,” showing the way this years election has polarized voters.

While not broken down by sex as in the previous poll, the latest poll includes important issues to voters – with economy taking a resounding 61 percent for most important issue.

The President and his opponent were not the only candidates listed throughout the poll, which also covered Senator Bob Casey and his challenger, Tom Smith. Unlike the last poll, which showed Casey ahead of Smith 44 percent to 41 percent, Casey leads by just a point.

These numbers show a contrast to two other polls released today, each of which show Casey maintaining a steady lead. Real Clear Politics also shows Casey ahead of Smith 48 percent to 41.5 percent in their latest average.

Pulse Opinion Researched polled 1,000 people through live interviews on October 15. The poll had a +/- three percent margin of error with 95 percent level of confidence.

Pulse Opinion Research, LLC, which was commissioned by Let Freedom Ring to conduct the poll, is an independent public opinion research firm using automated polling methodology and procedures licensed from Rasmussen Reports, LLC.

Let Freedom Ring, Inc. is a conservative issue advocacy organization that works with Tea Parties. Its website describes it as, “a non-profit public policy organization committed to promoting Constitutional government, free enterprise and traditional values.”

As with any internal poll, this should be taken with a grain of salt. Conservatives are hoping to attract national interest in both the presidential and the U.S. Senate race.

  1. Casey lied Babies died. <— that is a period. Vote him out! Let's be clear, his National Abortion Rights Action League rating in 2011 was 100%….. VOTE HIM OUT! He scarificed his religious fredom amendment to pass Obamacare, because Obama promised him that he would protect religious freedom… Yeah the word of that man let alone and singular representative hasnt exactly been working out for us as a constitutional Republic. VOTE CASEY OUT! He cares more about Unions than the unborn!

  3. PA is fool’s gold for the GOP in a Presidential election. Like NJ always has been. There’s always some polls this time of year that show the election to be close here, and it always settles to a DEM win, except in big landslide years.

This poll in particular used some very slanted language, some of the questions are even in push poll territory.

Furthermore it looks like they’re calling only land lines which means the sample skews older.

I think Obama wins by 7% in PA. If it were really close, Romney would be advertising here by now.
