Lois Herr Closing on Pitts in Latest Poll

Lois Herr Closing on Pitts in Latest Poll

“Serious Upset” Brewing in Seven-Point Race

Challenger Lois Herr has closed to within seven points of career politician Joseph Pitts in Pennsylvania’s 16th District, according to a poll conducted last week by Public Policy Polling (PPP).

The poll shows Pitts leading 41-34, with over 26% of voters still undecided.

Only 38% of voters surveyed in the district think Pitts deserves another term, including only about half of Republicans. 46% believe it is time to give someone new a chance.

“People have clearly had enough,” said Mac Booker, Herr 2010 Campaign Manager. “Pitts has been too wrong for too long, and after 40 years in government, the voters clearly want a fresh start.”

Herr was pleased with the results, noting that hers is one of the closest races in the state.

“People are tired of career politicians and fed up with a government that does not work for them. That is what I have been hearing all over this district when I talk to voters. They want a representative who will work to bring jobs and infrastructure improvements to our district,” Herr said. “People know Joe Pitts is not working for them, and that I will.”

The survey was conducted among 363 likely voters in PA-16 on 9/15-17.
